True Names

In Sigg, creatures of all kinds, those of Law and those of Chaos, are able to wield magic to further their ends.

It is known to most in the realm that knowing a person or creature's true name will give you immense power over them when concocting spells and rituals. For this reason it is rare to know the real names of those in the Far Weald, rather most are referred to by title, nickname, or a name they gave themselves.

Knowing a being's true name allows those gifted with magical abilities to focus specific spells and effects toward the individual upon who they know their name, all without requiring a line of sight or touch.
