The lotus is a highly valuable plant in the region of Sigg known as the Dromad Dunes. The plant grows in a variety of colors, each requiring very specific growth conditions to produce flowers. It is highly valued as a drug and its magical enhancement capabilities. Typically the plant is inhaled after burning, most often through a hookah, but some will carry lotus pipes from which less-potent varieties can be consumed.

refining

Lotuses are refined to draw out their special properties. The refining process is kept extremely secret by the Lotus Growers faction within the Sunken City, but if one were to get their hands on refined lotus, the prices would be valued at 2x the value of the type of lotus refined. For example, refined red lotus dust is valued at 20 gold pieces. It requires 1 lotus of average size to refine into a single dose of dust. This means to get a single dose from a small lotus would require two flowers while an extra large would produce 3 doses.
